LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - If Sis City wins the Kentucky Oaks on Friday, she would make up for a bad start to trainer Richard Dutrow Jr.'s week.
On Monday, New York racing officials suspended Dutrow for 60 days, starting June 1, because two of his horses tested positive for medications after races. Dutrow disputes one of the tests and said the other resulted from a mistake by one of his assistants.
The New York State Racing and Wagering Board stayed an additional 60-day suspension for an illegal claim. The board said Dutrow claimed and resold a horse in 2004 and it raced in the name of a person who wasn't the owner, a violation of New York rules.
