DENVER (AP) - Todd Helton hit a pair of run-scoring doubles and the Colorado bullpen held onto a one-run lead for nearly four innings Monday night to help the Rockies win their second straight, 7-6 over the Atlanta Braves.
Brad Hawpe had a two-run single in the fourth off Tim Hudson (3-2) to give Colorado a 7-6 lead. Given the venue, Coors Field, and the team, the Rockies, it appeared unlikely things would stay that way.
But Jamey Wright (2-2) pitched a scoreless fifth and got the first out of the sixth. Jose Acevedo, Brian Fuentes and Chin-Hui Tsao then combined to shut out the Braves the rest of the way in the Colorado bullpen's best overall showing of this frustrating season.
