LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was stronger against other major currencies in European trading Wednesday. Gold prices were mostly lower.
The euro was quoted at $1.2805 in European trading, down from $1.2866 Tuesday. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.2808.
Other dollar rates in Europe, compared with late Tuesday, included 105.69 Japanese yen, up from 105.52; 1.2065 Swiss francs, up from 1.2013; and 1.2478 Canadian dollars, up from 1.2371.
