BOSTON (AP) - Former Christian Science board member Richard Bergenheim will take over next week as editor of The Christian Science Monitor, replacing Paul Van Slambrouck, church officials announced.
Bergenheim, 56, is a former editor in chief of the Christian Science Publishing Society, which oversees the Boston-based newspaper.
Van Slambrouck, whose tenure ends this week, joined the newspaper as a reporter in 1976 and has been the editor since July 2001. The Christian Science board of directors has asked him to stay on the Monitor staff as a senior editor.
