ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Carlos Pena's single off the glove of first baseman Mark Teixeira broke an eighth-inning tie and the Detroit Tigers went on to a 6-5 victory over the Texas Rangers on Wednesday.
The Tigers rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the seventh by scoring two runs on one wild pitch. Pena broke the 4-4 tie the next inning with his single and Brandon Inge added a sacrifice fly in the ninth for a two-run lead.
Pinch-hitter David Dellucci led off the bottom of the ninth with a home run against Ugueth Urbina, but the reliever held on for his third save.
