 INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Defending Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Rice was released from the hospital Thursday and plans to resume practice next week.
"Overall, yeah, I'm sore but I feel OK," Rice said. "I'm just going to relax and come to the track on Friday."
Rice was hospitalized overnight with a severe bruise to his back and a concussion from a hard crash just 16 minutes into practice Wednesday. He was examined at Methodist Hospital on Thursday morning and released after breakfast.
