SEATTLE (AP) - Mariners catcher Wiki Gonzalez was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday after straining his left hamstring against Boston on Saturday.
Seattle called up catcher Rene Rivera from Double-A San Antonio to take Gonzalez's place on the roster.
Gonzalez was injured running out a ground ball in the seventh inning of Seattle's 6-3 loss to the Red Sox. He was hitting .375 with four doubles and two RBIs since his call-up from Triple-A Tacoma.
