 NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - A judge dropped assault charges Wednesday against Kenya's first lady, who was accused of slapping a television journalist on World Press Freedom Day.
Attorney General Amos Wako recommended dropping the charges against Lucy Kibaki, saying authorities hadn't enough time to investigate.
Senior Principal Magistrate Rosemelle Mutoka said Wednesday she had reservations about Wako's request but had to accept it.
