MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Toronto's Corey Koskie left Thursday's game at Minnesota with a jammed right thumb, and he was taken to a hospital for X-rays.
Koskie, in the lineup as the Blue Jays' designated hitter, was hurt sliding into second base in the second inning. He singled and tagged up on a fly out to center field by Vernon Wells, but Torii Hunter threw him out trying to advance. Koskie collided with second baseman Luis Rivas as he slid into the bag.
Koskie, the Twins' starting third baseman for six seasons until signing with the Blue Jays last winter, was pinch-hit for by Frank Menechino in the fourth.
