 NEW YORK (AP) - Pedro Martinez's latest start against the New York Yankees felt different, looked different and even sounded different. "This time around I had more fans behind me," the Mets right-hander said. "Less hate words."
Unfortunately for Martinez, the result was all too familiar.
When pitching for the Boston Red Sox against the Yankees, Martinez had trouble holding late leads. But on Sunday he was let down by his defense and the bullpen as the Mets lost 5-3.
