PARIS (AP) - Formula One qualifying will change from two sessions to one, beginning with this weekend's European Grand Prix at Nuerburgring, Germany.
The sport's governing body announced the change Monday following criticism of the two-session qualifying system used in the first six races this season.
Under the new rule, a single-lap qualifying session will take place Saturday. The qualifying running order will be based on the finish in the previous race, with the winner going last.
