WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush on Tuesday named Timothy E. Flanigan, a senior lawyer for Tyco International Ltd., to be deputy attorney general, the No. 2 position at the Justice Department.
Flanigan has been Tyco's general counsel for corporate and international law since November 2002. Before that, he was deputy counsel at the White House under Bush.
Tyco, which has about 250,000 employees and $36 billion in annual revenue, makes electronics and medical supplies and owns the ADT home security business. Nominally based in Bermuda, its operations headquarters are in West Windsor, N.J.
