TOKYO (AP) - The dollar was lower against the Japanese yen in Asian trading early Tuesday as investors awaited comments from finance officials attending the monetary conference in Beijing over a revaluation of China's yuan.
The dollar was trading at 106.89 yen at midmorning Tuesday, down 0.40 yen from late Monday in Tokyo and below the 106.90 yen it bought in New York later that day.
The euro dipped to $1.2258 from $1.2263 late Monday in Tokyo and to 130.96 yen from 131.53 yen.
