LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) - Bill Barnett is stepping down as coach of the U.S. women's water polo team because he couldn't come to terms on a contract just three months after taking the job.
"We just weren't able to hammer out the details of the agreement in a way that suited both sides," USA Water Polo executive director Tom Seitz said Wednesday.
Assistant Heather Moody, a two-time Olympian, was serve as the interim head coach. She will coach at the FINA World League tournament and the world championships this summer.
