South Korea's Foreign Minister Ban Ki-moon, center, talks with Unification Minister Chung Dong-young, left, and Defense Minister Yoon Kwang-Ung, right, during an interpellation at National Assembly in Seoul, Wednesday, June 8, 2005. Ban said Wednesday that it is not yet clear when the six-party talks on North Korean weapons program would resume. If the talks do reconvene, he expressed hope that they could bring about a complete resolution to the nuclear standoff. (AP Photo/ Lee Jin-man)SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - Asian and Russian officials greeted the prospect of a resumption of talks on North Korea's nuclear weapons programs with caution and hope Wednesday but noted that no date had been set.

The United States said Tuesday it had wooed North Korea back to negotiations on the Koreans' nuclear weapons program, although Washington also expressed caution as no timetable was given.

"We will see," White House spokesman Scott McClellan said Wednesday. "They haven't given us a date."
