Tuesday, June 14, 2005 1:38:27 PM

NEW YORK (AP) - Eight international players were added to the practice squads of eight NFL teams for the 2005 season.

The players will be on the practice squads of teams in the AFC West and NFC South, continuing a program that began last season in the NFC West. Two of those players — Mexican offensive lineman Rolando Cantu and German defensive end Christian Mohr — were added to regular rosters for training camp. Cantu signed with Arizona; Mohr with Seattle.

This year's practice squad players are Peter Heyer, a guard from Germany (with Kansas City), Klaus Alinen, a tight end from Finland (Atlanta), Richard Yancy, a safety from Germany (San Diego), Michael Quarshie, a defensive tackle from Finland (Oakland), Anders Akerstrom, a defensive end from Norway (New Orleans), Claudius Osei, a safety from Germany (Tampa Bay), Patrice Majondo-Mwamba, a defensive tackle from Belgium (Denver) and Aden Durde, a linebacker from Great Britain (Carolina).
