MIAMI (AP) - Miami Dolphins safety Travares Tillman had surgery to repair torn cartilage in his left knee Tuesday, but no time has been set for his return.
The injury is not thought to be serious, but the Dolphins are going to wait before making a prognosis. Tillman hurt the knee during practice Saturday, and the team hopes to have him back in time for the start of training camp July 24.
Tillman, who spent last season with Carolina, is expected to start next season in the Dolphins' depleted secondary. The team's top three safeties all departed during the offseason.
