LENK IM SIMMENTAL, Switzerland (AP) - Rookie rider Linus Gerdemann won his first career stage on Friday, while Michael Rogers kept the leader's yellow jersey after seven legs of the Tour de Suisse.
Gerdemann completed the 120-mile stage between Einsiedeln and Lenk im Simmental in 4 hours and 25 minutes. Lorenzo Bernucci finished second, 4 seconds back.
"Now I've made my mark on international cycling. I've won a stage in a big event on the Pro Tour," said the 22-year-old Gerdemann. "I think I have to sleep a night and wake up tomorrow to realize what I've done."
