CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Cubs activated right-hander Mark Prior before Sunday's start against the White Sox and sent left-hander Rich Hill to Triple-A Iowa.
Prior, 4-1 with a 2.93 ERA, had been on the disabled list since May 28 with a fracture in his right elbow after being hit by a line drive in a game against Colorado.
"We're not rushing him back; Mark wants to pitch," manager Dusty Baker said. "When this happened ... there was speculation Mark was done for the season. ... Mark knows himself. Mark is a smart young man. We're not rushing Mark at all, and Mark would not go out there if he wasn't (ready)."
