JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A man who took a lawyer hostage and threatened to blow up a building last year to press his grudge against a judge was sentenced Friday to the maximum 20 years in prison.
John Knight "had planned to take his own personal vengeance against the system," Circuit Judge Michael Weatherby said at the sentencing. "None of this was the act of a madman."
But, he added, "I cannot discern any plausible or palpable reason that someone would commit the crimes that he committed."
