 SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Penny Taylor scored a game-high 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting, and Phoenix broke a season-high five-game losing streak in a 76-69 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Tuesday night.
The Mercury (4-11) broke out of the Western Conference cellar, and San Antonio (5-13) inherits last place.
Trailing by as much as 13 points in the first half, San Antonio cut Phoenix's lead to two points and had a chance to trim it to one when rookie center Katie Feenstra missed a free throw with 12:34 remaining in the game.
