CINCINNATI (AP) - Federated Department Stores Inc., the operator of Bloomingdale's and Macy's, said Thursday that June sales in its department stores open at least one year rose 2.9 percent.
Wall Street had projected a same-store sales increase of 1.9 percent, according to 10 analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial.
Total June sales rose 3.1 percent to $1.44 billion from $1.39 billion a year ago.
