Tour De France Increases Vigilance

(AP Photo/Peter Dejong)KARLSRUHE, Germany (AP) - The 24,000 police officers who patrol the Tour de France will be more watchful following the London terror attacks. But no extra measures have been taken, including the security for six-time champion Lance Armstrong.

"The security forces we have on the Tour have been vigilant from the start and they will be even more so now," deputy race director Christian Prudhomme said. "That is the only difference."

Riders observed a minute's silence at the start of Friday's seventh stage to honor the victims of the London attacks.
