NEW YORK (AP) - Oil prices fell Wednesday after the government reported a surprisingly big build in distillate stocks and supply fears related to Tropical Storm Emily eased.
The August crude-oil futures contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell 61 cents to $60.01 a barrel after trading in a range of $59.79 and $61.30.
Petroleum products futures were led lower by heating oil. The August heating oil contract slid 3.36 cents to $1.7179 a gallon, while the August gasoline futures contract fell 2.12 cents to $1.7542 a gallon.
