SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Joseph Montoya sits in a prison cell for a murder he claims he didn't commit. His identical twin brother, Jeremy, says he's guilty and ready to take the rap. But they haven't been able to convince state courts that their story is credible.
With Jeremy watching intently from the front row of the courtroom and Joseph a dozen miles away at the Penitentiary of New Mexico the bizarre case was argued Wednesday before the state Supreme Court.
"There has to be a legal remedy for this problem," Eric Hannum, Joseph's lawyer, told the five justices.
