Japanese Stocks Nearly Unchanged

TOKYO (AP) - Japanese stocks were nearly unchanged early Tuesday, following earlier losses on Wall Street. The dollar rose against the yen.

The Nikkei 225 index rose 9.21 points, or 0.08 percent, to 11,767.89 points on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, compared with Friday's close, while the broader TOPIX index declined 0.64 points, or 0.05 percent, to 1,192.66.

The exchange was closed Monday for Marine Day, a national holiday.
