PAU, France (AP) - Andreas Kloeden of Germany dropped out of the Tour de France on Wednesday with a fractured right hand.
Kloeden, who finished second in last year's race, crashed Tuesday but took the starting line wearing a support brace for Wednesday's 17th stage between Pau and Revel. The T-Mobile rider withdrew shortly afterward, Tour organizers said.
He was 11th in the overall standings 12 minutes, 1 second behind leader Lance Armstrong.
