ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - To the extent that an NFL team can be defined by its quarterback, the New York Giants are now Eli Manning's team. The former No. 1 draft pick appears ready to assume that mantle.
Although he acknowledged that he still has much to learn about playing quarterback in the NFL after a difficult rookie season, Manning exuded confidence Friday as players arrived at the University at Albany for their second training camp under head coach Tom Coughlin.
A year ago, he spent camp in competition with veteran Kurt Warner, who wound up starting the first nine games of the season before Manning took over. With Warner now in Arizona he begins this camp as the undisputed starter.
