HONG KONG (AP) - China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd., the Hong Kong-listed unit of China's largest mobile network, said Wednesday its first-half net profit rose 28 percent, with nearly 20 million subscribers joining during the period.
Net profit for the six months ended June 30 was 24.04 billion Chinese yuan ($2.96 billion), up from 18.83 billion yuan a year earlier. Revenue for the period rose to 114.55 billion yuan ($14.12 billion) from 86.42 billion yuan.
China Mobile said it added 19.5 million subscribers during the six-month period. At the end of June, China Mobile had 223.8 million subscribers, or a 64.7 percent share of the mainland's mobile market.
