LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was lower against other major currencies in European trading Monday. Gold prices rose in Europe.
The euro was quoted at $1.2236, up from $1.2163 late Friday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro garnered $1.2231.
Other dollar rates included 109.67 Japanese yen, down from 110.45; 1.2684 Swiss francs, down from 1.2743; 1.2055 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2110.
