LONDON (AP) - The U.S. dollar was higher against most other major currencies in European trading Tuesday. Gold prices fell.
The euro was quoted at $1.2199, down from $1.2226 late Monday in New York. Later, in midday trading in New York, the euro fetched $1.2207.
Other dollar rates included 111.46 Japanese yen, up from 110.47; 1.2713 Swiss francs, up from 1.2672; and 1.1939 Canadian dollars, down from 1.1990.
