ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - Joe Gibbs' favorite story from the offseason features, as usual, his wife Pat.
"When I first told Pat about going back into coaching, she said, 'You're going to ruin your good name.' I told her after the season, 'We're halfway there,' " Gibbs said with a laugh. "They're backing up the pickup truck trying to get that Hall of Fame bust out of there. They'll melt that baby down when it's all said and done."
It's a nice bit of humor, but it's also a thinly veiled reference to the struggles Gibbs has faced since he walked through a time warp last year to return to the Washington Redskins after a 12-year retirement.
