MARTINEZ, Calif. (AP) - A jury was seated Tuesday in a first-degree murder case that will pit two sons against each other as their mother stands trial for killing their father.
Susan Polk, 47, claims she killed a knife-wielding Felix Polk in self-defense at the couple's $2 million home in the San Francisco suburb of Orinda in 2002. Prosecutors allege the attack was motivated by her desire to inherit his estate.
Susan Polk met her future husband when she began having an affair with him while seeing him as a therapist. She was 15 and he was 42.
