EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - In his third season at Michigan State, coach John L. Smith believes his players are getting comfortable with his offensive system.
It shows in the impressive numbers piled up by the No. 11 Spartans (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten) as they prepare to host intrastate rival Michigan (2-2, 0-1) on Saturday.
Michigan State is ranked third in the nation in total offense (594 yards per game) and fifth in scoring (49 per game). The Spartans balanced offense ranks in the top 10 nationally in passing and rushing.
