NEW YORK (AP) - Oracle Corp. President Charles Phillips on Friday said it would be "fun to crush" salesforce.com Inc., a rival company originally started with seed funding from Oracle founder Larry Ellison.
Salesforce.com was a pioneer in Web-based software that manages customer relationships.
Siebel Systems Inc., which is the market leader in software for managing customer data, has agreed to be acquired by Oracle for about $5.85 billion, and can make life uncomfortable for Salesforce.com, Phillips told a press briefing here.
