DAVIE, Fla. (AP) - The Miami Dolphins enjoyed a good bye. Without even playing Sunday, Miami took over sole possession of first place in the AFC East. Lopsided losses by the other division teams New England, Buffalo and the New York Jets left the Dolphins (2-1) alone atop the East for the first time since they were 4-1 in 2003.
It's a surprising development for Miami, which went 4-12 last year. But the topic angered coach Nick Saban, whose raspy voice rose in anticipation of reporters' questions about the first-place Dolphins and their injury-plagued division rivals.
"What happens to everybody else has nothing to do with us. Understand?" said Saban, banging on his lectern for emphasis. "What we can control, we can control.
