(AP Photo/Jay LaPrete)COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - First-round draft pick Gilbert Brule signed a three-year contract with the Columbus Blue Jays on Monday, guaranteeing the 18-year-old center a spot on the opening-night roster.

"He earned a spot on our roster and will be a tremendous complement to the young talent in our organization," said Columbus president and general manager Doug MacLean, whose team opens the season Wednesday night at Washington.
