TOKYO (AP) - Japanese stocks rose Tuesday, rebounding from losses due to lackluster results from a quarterly corporate confidence survey. The dollar was higher against the yen and euro.
The Nikkei 225 index rose 124.56 points, or 0.92 percent, to finish the morning session at 13,649.84 points on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The broader TOPIX index, which includes all issues on the exchange's first section, added 4.89 points, or 0.35 percent, to 1,416.17.
The Nikkei declined on Friday and Monday, the first time since mid-August the index had fallen for two straight sessions.
