Parmalat Seeks $8.47 Billion From CSFB

ROME (AP) - Parmalat Finanziaria SPA is seeking damages worth 7.1 billion euros ($8.47 billion) from Credit Suisse First Boston as part of its efforts to recover money after it went bankrupt two years ago, the Italian dairy company said.

The lawsuit against CSFB, the New York-based investment-banking unit of Swiss bank Credit Suisse Group, and other banks was included in a prospectus published in Italian papers Tuesday before the company's return to the stock market later this week.

The company previously announced similar suits against several other major banks.
