WASHINGTON (AP) - It was fitting that Marcus Washington invoked the name "Rocky Balboa" following the Washington Redskins' latest heart-stopping victory. If the team keeps winning games like this, they just might become a likable underdog.
OK, so they're not the 1969 Mets or the 1983 N.C. State Wolfpack, who turned mediocrity into charm overnight and took that to a championship. But this year's Redskins have been dealt a decent hand of karma cards for a change, a three-game make-good for years of bad decisions, bad chemistry and bad luck.
"Finally," Washington said, "things are starting to go right for us a little bit."
