NEW YORK (AP) - Bob Bradley was fired as coach of the MetroStars on Tuesday, ending a run of nearly three years with no playoff victories and an MLS team consistently hovering near the .500 mark.
Assistant coach Mo Johnston will take over for the interim, beginning with Wednesday night's game at Chicago. He played six years with the Kansas City Wizards after a European career with Celtic, Rangers and the Scottish national team.
General manager Alexi Lalas replaced Nick Sakiewicz in June with a promise to improve a club that has never won a title. Lalas called Bradley a "classy individual."
