KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) - Uganda's defense minister on Friday released the names of the first five men to face arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court, pledging to arrest the leaders of the notoriously cruel Lord's Resistance Army and to turn them over to the tribunal.
Amama Mbabazi said copies of the warrants were delivered to Uganda, Congo and Sudan, the three countries where at least four of the men are believed to be hiding.
"We have been told to take up the challenge and arrest the five terrorists. We expect the international community to come and help in the arrests, but if they fail, we are committed to do the job," Mbabazi said.
