NEW YORK (AP) - Cotton futures soared Monday as uncertainty over the cotton crop and production capabilities of earthquake-ravaged Pakistan sparked massive fund and speculative buying.
Among the other commodities futures, crude oil fell slightly, precious metals strengthened and coffee jumped.
December cotton futures settled 2.03 cents higher at 55.66 cents per pound on the New York Board of Trade. Trading hit highs not seen since early July.
