WASHINGTON (AP) - Olie Kolzig made 38 saves to get Washington into a shootout and then made two more stops in the tiebreaker to give the Capitals a 3-2 victory Sunday night over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Alexander Ovechkin and Petr Sykora scored during the shootout for Washington. Vincent Lecavalier, who scored his fourth goal of the season in regulation, was the only Lightning player to beat Kolzig in the extra session.
Kolzig turned aside Martin St. Louis and Brad Richards to seal the Capitals victory.
