FINDLAY, Ohio (AP) - Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. on Tuesday withdrew its third-quarter earnings estimate, citing weaker-than-expected sales of replacement tires and higher energy, transportation and raw-materials costs.
The tiremaker on Aug. 2 had projected third-quarter earnings of 10 to 14 cents per share, including a charge of 8 cents from a monthlong strike at an Arkansas tire plant.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial expected earnings of 9 cents per share.
