ATLANTA (AP) - Through most of the 1990s, Leo Mazzone seemed to have the best job in baseball, rocking away in the Atlanta Braves dugout while he guided pitchers such as Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz.
In recent years, it became more apparent that Mazzone was one of the best at his job.
Time after time, pitchers who struggled elsewhere were transformed into winners for the Braves. Time after time, pitchers who thrived under Mazzone ran into trouble after leaving for another team.
