TOKYO (AP) - Japanese stocks slumped Friday following an overnight drop on Wall Street. Japanese shares had rallied a day earlier to snap a six-day losing streak. The dollar weakened against the yen and euro.
The Nikkei 225 index fell 36.15 points, 0.27 percent, to end morning trading at 13,154.31 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. The broader TOPIX index, which includes all issues on the exchange's first section, declined 7.74 points, or 0.56 percent, to 1,376.21.
Tokyo shares, which have risen only one of the past seven sessions, lost ground following a sharp reversal in New York on Thursday as concerns over U.S. corporate profits and economic growth reasserted themselves.
