NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) - An endangered wild black rhino killed a 35-year old animal keeper and charged other workers Friday before a ranger shot it dead in Kenya's oldest park, wildlife officials said.
The bull, which gored the animal keeper and forced other sanctuary workers up a tree, was shot dead by a ranger from the Kenya Wildlife Service, who rushed to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary upon hearing screams, the wildlife service said.
It was not immediately clear what triggered the early morning attack, said Connie Maina-Nkatha, a spokeswoman for the wildlife service.
