BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU is still a contender in the Southeastern Conference after back-to-back big though not particularly pretty wins. Meanwhile, Auburn's chance to defend its SEC title got kicked off line.
"The key is that no matter to what extent we played close to our opponent, we still found a way to win in this game," LSU coach Les Miles said after his seventh-ranked Tigers beat Auburn 20-17 in overtime Saturday night.
LSU prevailed when Auburn kicker John Vaughn missed his fifth field goal of the night, hitting the left upright from 39 yards in overtime.
