BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU is still a contender in the Southeastern Conference after back-to-back big — though not particularly pretty — wins. Meanwhile, Auburn's chance to defend its SEC title got kicked off line.
"The key is that no matter to what extent we played close to our opponent, we still found a way to win in this game," LSU coach Les Miles said after his seventh-ranked Tigers beat Auburn 20-17 in overtime Saturday night.
LSU prevailed when Auburn kicker John Vaughn missed his fifth field goal of the night, hitting the left upright from 39 yards in overtime.
