WASHINGTON (AP) - Harriet Miers' friends from her American Bar Association days could deliver some badly needed good news to the Supreme Court nominee with a unanimous vote to give her their highest rating.
Don't count on it.
A stringent evaluation process and the ABA's history of unpredictability make a "well-qualified" imprimatur for President Bush's pick far from certain, according to academics and former members of the committee that rates judicial nominees.
